YSI THM 1000 brings trihalomethane analysis on-site in 30 minutes
YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio — YSI, a Xylem brand, introduces the THM 1000 Selective VOC Analyzer—a purpose-built solution for on-site trihalomethane (THM) analysis in drinking water facilities. The instrument delivers accurate results in just 30 minutes, eliminating the delays and costs of off-site laboratory analysis.
Trihalomethanes are disinfection byproducts formed when chlorine reacts with organic compounds in water. The EPA limits total THMs to 80 ppb in drinking water. Traditional GC/MS analysis requires external laboratories, creating delays that limit real-time process optimization.
"Water treatment operators need THM results immediately, not days later from an outside lab," states Jakob Woodside, Product Manager at Xylem Lab Solutions. "The THM 1000 puts that capability directly in their hands, enabling real-time process adjustments and faster response to changing conditions."
