Tuttlingen, December 17, 2025 – With modular photostability test chambers, BINDER offers flexible, ICH-compliant solutions for photostability testing in accordance with ICH Q1B. The units combine precise environmental simulation with a modular design principle that allows individual adaptation to different test requirements.

The basis is a standard unit (constant climate chamber or cooling incubator) that is combined with an ICH light module. The light modules are easy to install and transform the basic unit into a photostability test chamber. Thanks to the modular design, the units can be expanded or converted at any time and used for different applications.

An example of a basic unit is the KBF constant climate chamber. With a temperature range of 0°C to +70°C and a humidity range of 10 % to 80 % RH, it is perfectly suited for long-term tests, accelerated stability tests and stress tests, and meets all important ICH requirements for documentation. Thanks to energy-efficient cooling via a modern inverter cooling unit, the KBF series consumes up to 40 per cent less energy than its predecessor models. KBF climate chambers are available in various sizes and can be expanded with the ICH light module to create a photostability test chamber.

The ICH light module is available in two versions: with and without light-dose control (LQC). Each light module consists of a control unit and two illumination cassettes - one for the VIS range and one for the UVA range. The light qualities are proven to comply with the specifications of the ICH Q1B guideline, while the climate control in the chamber ensures that the preset climate is maintained at all times despite the high light intensity.

Thanks to the modular design, stability tests according to ICH Q1A and ICH Q1B can be carried out with a single unit, which significantly reduces space requirements as well as investment and operating costs.
