Absolute cleanliness of the glass-pipettes is obtained by the GEWO automatic pipette cleaners via the applied in-bath-principle (total immersion) together with gentle thermal agitation. The cleaning process covers the following steps: Soaking, cleaning, rinsing, drying.
The cleaning bath consisting of tap- or destilled water may be heated up to 95°C. Cleaning fluid is added automatically as needed from a 5l reservoir. For contamination-free rinsing tap water, destilled and bi-destilled water may be applied. The rinsing process may be repeated several times over. The drying of the pipettes is done in the same tank by using the same heating element as was used for heating the cleaning solution. The temperature may be chosen to 130°C.
